living room (2/2)

A handy person from 98296 says:

Hi,

I'm sending 2 separate requests: this first one is for springs for a bedroom window, the second will be springs for living room window.

Your YouTube video said I needed 7-8 different pics but this form only allows upload of 5 pics. Please let me know if I need to send additional pics.

I need springs for the right and left side of this window.

Thanks!

Hi, Penni.

I merged your two requests into one post to minimize confusion. I hope that's okay!

With this combination of fittings, you could have either our Series 380 or Series 385 channel balance. These two parts look identical at first glance but each one has a different bottom shoe depth.

The Series 380 has a 1" deep shoe while the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" shoe. Take a look at the image below to see which one matches best. For the 29 4 stamped balance, you will need the 2940 spring strength option. I don't see the stamp for the one in your first batch of pictures so you'll need to match it up with the corresponding spring strength option. Let me know if that makes sense or if you had any questions!

Hi,
Both channel balances appear to have the 1 3/32" shoes so 385.

For the bedroom window, the length is 25" with a stamp of '23400'. The options for the 385 only have a number series going from 2410 to 2465. Which one do I need?

For the living room window I have the same issue. Series 385 for 31" long you said needs '2940 spring strength option' but the numbers go from 3010 to 3060.

Thanks!

Can you confirm you're only measuring the metal channel? You don't want to include the plastic end fittings in this measurement. The 23400 stamp on your balance indicates that your metal channel should be 24" not 25". I think your 23400 stamp corresponds to the 2340 option on the S385-24 product page but you can always weigh your sash to confirm. The 2340 spring strength option supports sashes weighing 18 to 23 pounds.

The metal channel with the "29 4" stamp should also measure as 30", not 31". Can you confirm you're measuring only the metal channel for this balance, too?

A handy person from 98296 says:
Hi,
You're correct - my measurements are 24" and 30".

I found the channel balances for the 24" on the S385-24 product page.

Just need pointer for the 30" one with the "29 4" stamp.

Thank you so much! :)

It's my pleasure! Thank you kindly for confirming that for me.

For the balance with the 29 4 stamp, if your bottom shoe depth is 1-3/32", you'll need our S385-30 with the 2940 spring strength option.

Awesome! Just placed my order.

Thanks again! :)))))
