lock retrofit

I wanted to convert the existing sliding door handle to include an external lock mechanism. I now think I can see the problem as lock shaft does not line up with the interior latch rod. Note in the "main" picture that there is a recess for an additional wheel / gear that would line up perfectly with the interior latch. As this missing "gear" was never included and the new lock mechanism is worthless without it. Is there any hope of purchasing a kit to retrofit or do I need to purchase a complete handle / lock assembly?

Hello. I can see the issue here. Your mortise lock looks like our 82-238. This kind of lock is compatible with handle sets that have 4-15/16" hole spacing, such as our 82-080 or keyed 82-081. Yet the lock on your door is a type that has 3-15/16" hole spacing instead. There's really no feasible way to salvage the existing handle set. I think your best bet is to try either the 82-080 or keyed 82-081 and see if this works with your existing lock. They should unless there's some issue with the mortise lock itself. Let me know what you think.
