lower sash balance assembly and frame damage

Handy Person from St Paul, MN

This is a customers window we cleaned and some damage was caused.

The string snapped on the lower sash and I would like some information on replacement. Where can I find the specific part number? Can I just replace the string or should I just replace the balance? It is the style that screws into the lower sash. There is also some slight damage to the plastic frame on the right side of the bottom sash and was wondering if there is a good product to fill in the damaged area or to replace just the right side of the frame. Please let me know if I should contact a local rep

You won't find a part number for that balance anywhere on the window. Balances can only be identified by going over several different details concerning its design and size.

We can help, but we need you to remove the balance from the window entirely and show us clear pictures of it. I don't know what kind of balance you have, so I can't tell you what we need to see, but let's see it out of the window first so we can at least know what to ask for.

I'm afraid we can't do anything about that damage. That looks to be part of the frame itself. Maybe check a local hardware store to see if they recommend a kind of material you can use to fill in the dents.
