Hello. Above shows the latch not installed; in closed and open position.
The second photo shows the latch installed.
How am I supposed to remove the broken/inoperative latches without damaging the window sash?

Hello,
Your photos resemble the 26-362 vent latch. Take a look and see how the dimensions below compare to yours. In order to remove the old lock, you'll need to slide something like a putty knife under the flange to force it out of the cutout. Thank you!
