misaligned latch

Latch on lower window is misaligned with upper window and won't lock. See attached photos.

Hm... Let's see if we can sort this out. You might have debris in the interlocks between the top and bottom sash. Remove the sash and check. Also, the sill or top sash might be bowed, causing the sashes not to match. If it is the sill, it would be an installation problem, where the window might need to be re-installed. If it is a bowed sash, you need to get a professional to remove the glass and re-set the pane in the frame.
