mistake during installation of handles

Question

while installing a storm door, i made holes in the wrong places.the handles and mechanism wont stay in place.i have several holes on either side but  don't know how start over with the holes uncovered.is there a way to repair the holes so i can start over

I'm not sure of what type of lock it was that you tried to replace. That would affect your possible solutions. Sine this is a storm door, though, take a look at our 40-152 handle set. I have used this in the past to cover up extra holes. It comes with a exterior back plate. See what you think.
