mortice latch problem

So what do i do if i cannot remove mortice lock. i can take out screws and it will not drop. moves around and is loose but is like door is built around it.
Is a williams door with a 2265 handle set. I believe the 82-218 is the replacement. measurements look good. but i have no idea how to get old one out.

The 82-218 is known for falling into the door due to its orientation but we have a video that will show you how to remove and install a replacement without either falling into the door, never to be seen again. Check it out and please let us know if you have any other questions.
