my viking window balances

Quick Learner from Nevada
mine have a number of 2690 35 , or 2690 29 on them. Over the years I have replaced many and I think one is stiffer. I like the easier glide. I see you do not have 2690. Would the 2670 work?

Thanks for writing in. A few points. First, stamp options indicate the weight range that the balance is calibrated to support. The stamp option 2690 is from an older rating system that we no longer use. To know what stamp option to select, you will need to weigh the window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option on the product page. Keep in that the stamp option must be correct for your window sash for the balance to function correctly. As far as why you find some balances glide more easily than others, I can't say for sure, other than each window is built differently and each manufacturer uses slightly different balances! Let me if you have any other questions.
