need a keeper
What do you sell to complete this project? I'm selling my home this month.
Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm afraid I don't know what keeper you need for this door. Do you have the original that we can look at as a reference?
The only thing I can say with confidence here is that your mortise lock is not a typical style we sell. We don't have any keeper in our inventory right now that would be compatible with it. My hope is that we can see the original so that we can research and potentially add a new keeper to our inventory that would be compatible, but even that's not necessarily a guarantee. I will try my best to find you something, but I don't want to get your hopes up.
Either way, we need to start with a photo of the old keeper for reference. Written dimensions would also be a huge help.
I'm afraid I don't see a keeper in your photos. I might be confused as to what you're referring to; the keeper is the flat piece of metal that the hooks on the mortise connect to. It's usually installed in the door frame, not the door itself.
If that is what you're referring to, then I apologize for the confusion. I might just be missing where the keeper is in your photos. Can you point it out for me?
That sounds like the keeper, which brings us back to square one. If I can't see the original, I can't make a suggestion.
I have to stress that the 82-093 isn't compatible with any one particular keeper. The way this works is that the handle is compatible with a mortise lock, which is then itself compatible with a keeper. The 82-093 fits many, many different mortise styles, meaning there are many different possible keepers that you could be looking at.
The chief problem we're facing here is that we don't sell any keeper that is compatible with the mortise lock I see in your photos. That's just not something we sell. I'd be happy to research anything that might fit, but I can't do that without actually seeing the original keeper that your mortise used to begin with, which isn't shown in any of the above photos.
