my existing looks like 82-009A with 4 15/16 between screws.
and i was going to buy 82 306 and 82 310

but will it work it work the mechanism in 82-009A?

is there a better stronger handle that 82 306--
to supplement (if that handle doesn't have a lock) or replace?

Yes, the 82-306 can work with the 82-009A. Keep in mind that the 82-306 already comes with a key cylinder, so there's no reason to also get the 82-310.

There's not really a "better" version of the 82-306. It's pretty sturdy already. If you feel that there's a risk of it breaking when you pull on it, then there may be another issue with the door. You should consider examining the rollers to make sure they're in good condition.
