need help

Quick Learner

Hi SWISCO Support Team,

I am looking to order replacement parts for a block-and-tackle window balance system and need help identifying the exact components.

I have attached photos showing the original stamp, the metal channel length, the shoe in the track, and a close-up of the individual plastic balance shoe.

Could you please let me know which part numbers I need to order for a replacement shoe (and whether a full balance assembly or just the shoe replacement is recommended based on these photos)?

Thank you for your help!

Thanks so much for your patience during this busy season. We can supply this balance, but you have a bit of a special case that requires some explaining.

To cut to the heart of the matter: your exact configuration is no longer made and not something we can supply. However, we do have a potential alternative that has yielded a fair amount of positive results, and we think it's worth considering.

Before we go down that road I would like to clarify a few details from you. To start, there is a hole at the top of the track where the balance hook clips in. Can you show me a photo of that hole?

Can you also tell me how many balances you wanted to buy altogether?

Lastly, please tell me the precise length of the metal channel. It should be 24", but I want to be sure. Do NOT include the fittings in this measurement, you're only getting the length of the metal channel by itself.

I'm sorry for the confusion. To reiterate what I said before, your configuration isn't a product we can offer. We can't supply it, either in part or in whole. The best solution we can offer is an all new balance, top to bottom, but it will require data and handiwork on your end to get functional.

I would understand if that's more work than you wanted to put into this project, but at this stage that is what's necessary. If you wanted to proceed with this project, please supply the information I requested and we can tell you what your next steps are.
