Take a look at the 39-381 and 39-382. Go over the dimensions listed and let me know if you think these operators match what you need. There are two points that must be made here:

  • Your old operators have an offset that ours lack. I am not certain honestly if this will be an issue for you; it depends on the window.
  • If your old operator's link arm is indeed longer by a 1/2", you have a few options. First, you could see if you can install the new operators anyway; the length may not make a difference! Second, You could swap the link arms. You would drill them off the old and new operators, then install the old link arm on the new operator using a 62-014 rivet.

A home owner from Canonsburg, PA says:
this makes sense to use the old arm, but how hard is it remove the rivet ?

If you're up for it, you would drill out the rivets connecting the gear arms to the link arms on both operators. You could use a sharp 3/16" drill bit for this. A colleague of mine has also used a bench grinder to grind off the rivet. Be sure to take note of the way the arms relate to one another before you remove the link arms. Then, align the old link arm with the new operator's gear arm. Lay the arms atop a flat piece of steel and use a hammer to pin the new rivet into place. You can always hire a local pro to do the job if you so want as well.

One other thought, before you attempt this, is to try and move the bracket along the sash to see if that makes up any difference.
