Sliding glass door handle (AFG glass)

hi. it's 2 philips screws, 4 inches apart, holding the interior door handle. it's 2 philips, 3.75 inches apart on latch door plate (fig. 948).
the mechanism turning the latch from the interior is broken

Hello,

Take a look and compare the 82-087 handle set with 3-15/16" mounting holes to yours. If you need a new mortise lock down the road as well, see the 82-218. Thank you!

the handle is reversible, right? photo shows it in wrong direction. would you recommend getting the mortise lock as well? the visible problem is the lock lever broke off the handle but perhaps that was caused by an internal issue with the mortise lock?

Yes, the pull handle of the 82-087 can be mounted facing either the left or right. As for the mortise, you can test it by using a slotted screwdriver to turn the slot where the thumb latch engages with the mortise to see if the hook engages as it should to lock the door. If it does, there's no need to replace it.
