Hello,
My home was built in 1987 and the windows are original to the house. The window brand is "Imperial Windows". Half of the windows are non-tilt windows and the spiral springs and weather stripping have gone bad on them. I am curios how to replace the wool pile weather stripping that is installed into a track on the top of the bottom portion of the window that meets the bottom of the top portion of the window when closed. Currently it is slowly coming away from the window from opening and closing it.
Thank you for your time,
Tim

Hey, Tim. I think I can help, but I would like a little more information. Are you able to send me photos of your window? I would especially need to see close ups of the weather stripping and balance? That will give me a better idea of what you have and what can be done. Thanks!

Paul,
Thank you for your response. I will attach some pictures of the window, where the wool pile is coming out of the window.

Thanks! From you photos, looks like you might have our 58-021. Please compare our dimensions with yours. Hopefully you will be able to remove sash when you replace the wool pile weather stripping. Some builder's grade windows are not removable and that will make it difficult to replace.
