Hi -
Am sorry if this is a dumb question, but.....
why won't this handle work on an outswing door?

That's just the way this handle is made. If it was installed on an outswing door, then the lock would be on the outside. If you want a lever storm door handle, I recommend the 40-177. Could this work on your door?

Hi -
Thanks for response. When I look at the photo for 40-028 (in-swinging door), I do not see a lock. The lock is clearly visible on 40-177, but it does not appear (based on the photo) that there is a lock on the 40-028.

The 40-028 uses a button lock. It does not have a keyed lock feature like our 40-177.
