I have a double hung sliding window. The windows fold out to wash the exterior. The metal arm that is the pivot point has broken. It looks like a large flat nail with two anchoring holes in it.

I believe you may be referring to the pivot bar at the bottom of each side of the window sash. To further review, we will need to see pictures of the original part where we can see the end that engages with the pivot shoe in the window channel. From there we can get a clearer idea of what style your window uses. Thank you!
