We may be have this, but removal will be necessary before we can recommend anything. Being an old aluminum door, you may need to knock off the bottom rail to access it. Many older doors were made this way. You can use a mallet and a block of wood; place the wood up to the rail and gently (but firmly) tap it to knock the rail clear.

Note that there is a risk of damaging the glass if you aren't careful. You may want to hire a professional to do this for you.
