pella sliding glass door

Question

I have pella sliding door going from my porch to the kitchen. Unfortunately you can open or lock the door, only from the inside with a little switch, which makes our lives difficult. I have noticed that there is a spot covered  by plastic, that if taken of would fit lock, which could be operated by key. Please help me with this!!!

Could you show us a picture of the latch in question? That would help us determine what you have, and what can be done to make this easier to lock. Let me know!
