We keep breaking the thumb latch on a 3' sliding patio door. The thumb latches I purchased, 82-240, don't work. These doors Were installed in 2004 if that helps.

I'm afraid I don't know what it is you're working with here. I need photos of both the original thumb lever and handle set. We'd better play it safe and get a clear photo of the mortise, as well. That will allow me to determine what our replacement options are, if any.

As you can see the inner shaft needs to be perpendicular to the thumb latch. Thanks for all your help

Thanks for these photos. We unfortunately don't have a thumb lever that matches what you show here. Were you able to get photos of the other parts I asked for? Right now I'm not optimistic that we can supply this, but seeing everything related to this part would help me confirm.
