pet security latch

I need to add a latch that will open from both inside and out for pet security. Do you have a suggestion?

I'm not sure what type of latch we could offer that can be opened from both sides. I'm not even sure if one exists. Did you talk to a hardware store or locksmith in your area, to see if they have any suggestions?
