pile weatherstripping

Question

When I was making alum & vinyl windows and doors years ago (when vinyl welding was just a "twinkle") we used to call "wool pile" weatherstripping by its generic name... not "fuzzy stuff"... It was even purchased by that name... And the groove in the frame member thru which it was slid was called the ????? groove...
What was/is that name???

I'm not sure the groove has any specific name. We've always just referred to it as a weatherstripping groove, or channel.
