2"H x 1 1/4" W x 17/32" thick; connects to red tip spiral balance. Thinking 15-015 is match.

Also interested in charging tool 75-006.

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. The 15-015 looks like a good bet if the specifications match up. The 75-006 will make it easy to charge the window balance and hook the spiral to the pivot shoe.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Question about clamps to remove pivot shoe. The strips (vinyl) on either side of pivot shoe are very stiff. 1997 windows. I made my own cutout at bottom to remove pivot shoe.

Do you think the clamps would crack/brake material? Or are these strips usually that stiff? While making cutout, the material did seemed quite flexible and didn't crack - used a retractable knife.

When using the 75-069 jamb spreaders, there is a risk of cracking the vinyl of the jamb, yes. The decision is ultimately yours but our recommendation is to make a cut out as you mentioned.

Hi there - got my order, with thanks. All went well until I tried to put window sash back in - the pivot bar (?) is just a solid rectangular shape, while the blue slot in the pivot shoe (15-015) is not (see first photo above of my pivot shoe).

Recommendations?

Fixed my problem with pivot shoes. Chiseled the little notch off in the slot where the pivot bar goes. Very pleased with all products and your helpful videos on how to change and install spiral balances and pivot shoes. The spreaders worked perfectly, video instructions were easy to follow. Thank you!

I do have a question about where to hook up balance end to pivot shoe. The video shows the spiral being hooked up to side slot, but I've also seen it being put in middle slot of pivot shoe. How is position determined?

Most service people hook the bottom spiral pin to the outside slot to get a better view when charging the balance.
