pivot lock shoe

A quick learner from Bowie, Tx 76230 says:
I'm trying to repair windows in a 1970's model mobile home. They had pivot shoes shown in the attached photos... I couldn't find a good match so I went with the 15-179 which matches length, width and depth but requires a round end on the sash pivot bar (it seems to me) to fit into them, the one on the window is oval, see the photos. Can you help me? Dawn Keyes

Thanks for posting. Your pivot bar looks like our 26-424, which is designed to work with a balance shoe like our 15-218 balance shoe. That doesn't look like your shoe, though.

Before we go any further, may we see the balance that connects to your shoe? That may give me the clue I need to find a good match.

Thank you for the additional photos. This looks like a S900-28 tilt spiral balance, which is a huge help. The pivot shoe is no longer available, but we have a replacement that should work with this balance. See our 15-134.

Now, this will work, but you'll also need a pivot bar to go with it. I recommend the 26-297. You would need to use both as a replacement with your balance. Our 75-006 charging tool would be very helpful in attaching the spiral to the pivot shoe. Look over our helpful videos, as well.
