prevent in swinging handle from latching

can you prevent the 40-028 in-swinging door handle set from latching, for a temporary basis, so that our dog can get out easily?

Thanks for posting. I'm a little unsure as to what you want to do. You want the door to not latch when closed, so that one may just push it open, correct? When you say temporary, do you want the latch to spring a few moments after it closes?

Thank you. I don't believe there is a way to keep the door from latching temporary. Try removing the strike plate, that may work for you.
