Similar to Product Code: 82-002 ; 82-002K Horizontal bar (in the center of the unit which engages lock) drops and does not stay in place. Is there any way to tighten / adjust tension so that when you push up the bar it stays in place?

You handle set could be worn. After years of use the die casting wears out and there's not much you can do about it.
