removal of old rollers

I have removed the two retaining screws on top but can't get the roller out of the door frame. Does the silver screw adjustment housing have to be removed also or does the whole unit just slide into the frame? I don't want to beat on the silver adjustment housing in order to remove the unit unless I have to.

Normally what you did should be sufficient to remove the old roller, but to play it safe... remove the adjusting screw and sliver collar and then tap out the old roller.

I had read the other questions regarding the 84-074 screen door roller but I had seen replacement rollers by themselves. Is the roller (alone)available or is just safer to replace the entire assembly. Thanks for the help.

I've noticed it's easier to replace the complete roller and housing. It is held in with screws in the patio screen door.
