My crank window opener is cracked and when I turn It doesnt close. It measures 4.5 inches long with 2 screw holes on top left and right. Casement window.

This looks potentially like an Andersen Casement Operator, like the 39-094 & 39-095, or the 39-146 & 39-147. You'll need to compare both sets with your old hardware, including the arms, to see what matches best.

How do I remove the screws to get the unit out. there is a strip of wood over the screws where the arm goes in. Its part of the window frame. It looks fairly easy to replace if I can get to the screws.

See the video below. You will need to remove the wood trim to get those screws. Though the video below features a different style of operator, the principles should essentially be the same.
