replacement balance identification

Handy Person from Central Oregon
Hello.
I need to replace the channel balances on two windows (4 balances total). When opened, the windows 'drift' back down to only about 5-6" open.

Pictures of balance, and top & bottom fittings are attached.
The stamp says "25 3 DU CMC 2"
Metal-metal length is 26"
The balance channel width is 9/16"

The lower fitting appears to be similar to 15-004 (winged/has tabs, approx. 1 3/32 deep, ~15/16" wide at the wings)
The upper fitting has tabs, approx 15/16" wide, approx 1 9/32" tall, and height is ~3/4" from tab shoulder to top)
Sash weight is approx. 23 lbs.

So... are we looking at S385-26-2540? Does that have the correct top/bottom fittings?

thank you.

Nice work here, Jim. If the bottom nylon shoe is indeed 1-3/32" deep, and if the metal channel is 26" long, then you definitely need the S385-26

Based on that old stamp of 25-3, you need balances stamped 2530, which means they'll be calibrated to support a window sash in the weight range of 15 through 19 pounds. If you're uncertain, weigh the window sash to confirm it falls in that weight range. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I had included the weight of sash above, i re-checked it and it is 22-23 lbs. that is why I thought -2540 was needed. We recently had the panes replaced, so maybe the replacements are a bit heavier than original.

Hi Jim. Sorry for missing the original weight you gave. In most circumstances we do suggest replacing the original stamp; however, if the panes were replaced, they may in fact be heavier than the originals and that would account for the difference. I'd be curious to know if the balances stopped working shortly after the pane replacement--it may have contributed to them wearing down. In any event, yes, if the sash weighs 23 pounds, go with a stamp option of 2540. Apologies for any confusion.
