Hey there! We appreciate you reaching out to us. This old Sears handle assembly isn't made anymore, I'm afraid. Our 40-177 should work well as a replacement though. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions. |
Hi, thank you for your reply however I do not think that part number 40-177 will work. If you will compare my photo to this part, you will see that the key hole is in the actual handle on the outside and not a separate piece. I called and spoke to Linette at your company today. She also thought that part number 40-130 could work, however, again, the inside locking mechanism is not a separate lower part if you understand what I'm saying. Please review my photos again and see if anything else is a better match. Thank you so much. Tina

Hello, Tina. I understand your concerns about the key lock being in a different spot in our 40-177 set compared to your old handle, but I do believe it's our best option. What you would need to do is drill out and file a hole to accommodate the new lock position. I know this isn't ideal, but your options are limited; the old style handle set just isn't made anymore and you won't find a modern set that will work without that kind of drilling. This isn't necessarily an easy project, especially if it's not something you've done before. If you are not comfortable making that kind of alteration to your door then I would suggest contacting a local professional to come out and do it for you. |
