replacement sliding door track

A handy person from Indiana says:
We have a large sliding door from the 80's, approx 8' total width (both sliding and stationary sections). Its' very heavy and has dragged for a while. Now the plastic is cracked. I'm hoping to find some replacement track that is metal that will hold up better than the plastic that was there. I hope the attached pictures help. Let me know if there is more info or angles that you need. The track width is 2 1/4".

Hello,

Unfortunately, we no longer carry 8' long patio door tracks but we do offer the 80-106 track and 80-102 cover in 6'. If you're handy, you should be able to purchase two tracks and cut the second one to size to make up the difference in length. Take a look and see what you think. Thank you!

A quick learner from NY says:
What could i use to attach the two pieces together. I'm in tbe same situation. Worn out 8' track.

Casey from SWISCO responded:

You wouldn't generally need to attach the tracks as long as both ends are lined up so that there is no gap between them. Both tracks attach directly to the floor, so they won't move once you install them. Thanks for posting!
