replacement spiral balance needed

Home Owner from new york
Hello, I am looking to replace some spiral balances in a window but have never done this before. I got to your Non-Tilt Window 5/8" Diameter Tube Balances page but don't know what series I would need.

Also the ones I am looking to replace have a metal piece attached to the bottom of the spiral that screws into the bottom of the sash. I don't see that on any of the balances here.

Hello,

Take a look at the 5/8" diameter S500 spiral balances for non-tilt windows. You'll need to measure the length of the tube to choose the correct replacement. You'll also need to weigh the sash to follow the chart under the balance product description, which will tell you which color option is needed to support the sash. We also offer the 17-012 bracket commonly used with this balance series. Take a look and thanks for posting!

Thank you! One more question, The two sets of spirals I am replacing are 23" and 25" but the 23" is shorter than the window sash. Is this on purpose/okay or should I order using the height of the sash?

The balance length for these types of balances is generally equal to the height of the visible glass plus 3" for the bottom sash. For the top sash, it would be the glass height plus 1".
