replacement weather stripping for casement window

Home Owner from South Carolina

Weather stripping is just crumbling when I try to remove a piece. The window number (inside the two panes) is: M040616000183203 10488 1-5.

There are four left and four right opening windows although that shouldn't make any difference on weather stripping.

Window size is approximately 68 x27 Precise amount of stripping I would need would be 127 feet, but 150 would give me some room for cutting etc.

I don't want to ever have to do this again, so I'm willing to pay for the best weather stripping that will work.

What I currently have has lasted approximately 17 years.

Thanks,

Casey

Hi there, Casey.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We'd be happy to help with this but the best match for your weatherstripping will depend entirely on the original. I know you said it crumbles when you try to remove a piece but it's very important that we see an undamaged sample's end profile. We won't be able to offer a recommendation without that. There's no real trick when it comes to removing brittle or worn weatherstripping, I'm afraid. You just have to be very gentle and patient.
