replacement window channel

Home Owner from Seattle, WA

sash 9/16 inch wide.Winged top tip. But I am having a hard time deciding if the bottom is anything you have shown. It is 1 inch in depth, with wings but the pieces that straddle the south end of the metal chamber seem thicker/longer than what you show here. Closest I can see is 385 for non-tilt windows. And of course, it may make no difference. One is marked 17-2 with other tiny marks unreadable. Length of the metal actually 17.5 inches Another is for a longer window 20-3 with other difficult to deciper tinier print (BSI ?).Length actually 20.5 inches. So is the order then for a 21 inch or a 20??

They pop out alot, as a cause vs result hooks are broken. I have taken windows down many times over 20 years to fix the channel, but they usually pop again after 5-6 openings... Don't know the maker of these rather generic windows manufactured locally in Seattle.

Any idea if these photos direct you to a part name to order.

Hello there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We can help supply this balance but it will have to be a custom order due to its configuration. The pulley wheel is built into the bottom fitting itself and this balance features an extended cord travel as well as a metal channel length ending in 5/8" which is what makes it custom. For example, the metal channel should measure 17-5/8". Custom orders are nonrefundable so you may want to double check to be safe.

In the meantime, can you clarify what you mean when you say the balances "pop"? Can you also tell us the precise weight of the window sash? Have you ever had any difficulty opening or closing the windows with the "popping" channel balances? Finally, can you confirm the number of balances you'd like to order?

Other than the numbers on the channel itself this looks exactly like what I need.  My channel is stamped 20 3  B.S.1  but the two end pieces are identical.  If you have this part I need to order two of them.  Thank you.  Flora

Hello, Flora. Given that this balance assembly is a custom order, we will require photos of your original assembly in order to verify that all details are the same. I know that you say that your balance is identical to the photos above, but please understand that custom orders are non-refundable. We require photos to verify as a matter of policy.

We specifically need to see the balance removed from the frame and in undamaged condition. I require a shot of the top end, bottom end, stamp, and the hook at the end of the cord.

Here are the photos of my channel balances.  The numbers on the metal were hard to read but they are 20 3.  Please let me know what the approximate cost would be for 2 each.

Ps CAN I DIRECTLY MAIL THE PHOTOS?  I CANNOT ADD ANY USING THE 'ADD PHOTO' ICON BELOW?

Thank you,

Flora

Hi
Thank you for your email.  I am attaching the photos for your reference.  Please let me know if you need anything else.  The numbers were hard to see so I went over them with marker.  The number is 20 3

Thank you! I appreciate it, these photos have allowed us to verify the make of your balance.

So, the manufacturer actually made some changes to these recently. Your exact model was discontinued and is no longer made, but the good news is that they made a modern equivalent that works just as well in all the same applications. I'm only telling you this now because the design is a little different and I don't want you to be surprised when you open the box.

I'll go ahead and email you a purchase link and price quote that will let you add 2 to your cart. You can then checkout as normal.
