replacement window operator Truth - excess looseness

Seeking direct (or equivalent) replacement for this window operator from 1993. (see photo)

These are not broken, but the original design has always had excessive free play within the gear train, allowing the windows considerable movement. The end of the (~ten inch) arm can move by almost 2" just due to looseness of the mechanism.

What is available to correct this problem?

Hello,

It sounds like the operator gear may have stripped over time, causing the excessive play you mentioned. If that is the case, you would need to replace the entire assembly. Take a look and compare the specifications of your operator to the 39-216 shown below. We also offer the 39-217 opposite-handed version. Thank you!
