replacing screen using rigid screen spline

Quick Learner from Nantucket
I have Andersen storm doors with screen inserts that look exactly like the one in your video that uses rigid spline # 55-109. Try as I might, I just cannot get the spline to "stay" in place - it just doesn't seem to "snap" under any lip of the screen as the movie clip shows.

I have attached a photo of my screen door with #55-109 rigid spline.

What am I doing incorrectly?

Thank you for reaching out to us, Wayne. It is a little tricky to install the 55-109 flat spline. I recommend you take a look at both videos related on this page if you haven't already looked at them. Repairing screens in general takes a certain knack to do. There's no real trick to it, unfortunately. It just takes a little bit of time and patience.

I am having the same trouble. Doing things the way you show bit will not go into place.

Are you using the 55-109 rigid screen spline from Swisco? We have tried using a similar "knock-off" spline which did not seem to fit well. Trying to reuse the old spline from the screen is very hard to work with as well. If you're still having trouble, you may want to contact a local professional for assistance.
