An internal part (lever that pulls latch back when door handle is turned) broke its "ears". I ordered 40-194 Brass and everything lines up except the lockset. The spacing in new mortise latch puts the deadbolt lockset one quarter inch higher. Consequently the inside and outside cover plate openings for lockset are one quarter inch too low. Also the lockset opening in new latch is different. The screw hole to hold lockset in place is same location height as old mortise latch. I am not sure if tumbler mechanism of lockset is compatible with deadbolt mechanism.
My inclination is to cover holes inside and out and not use lock set unless there is a better suggestion.

Hello,
We'd be happy to look into this for you but we would need to see detailed photos of your original door hardware, along with written-out dimensions, to determine if a better replacement option is available. Thank you.
