replacing the crank cover

I have two crank covers that need to be replaced because it has cracked along the bottom part. How do I replace the covers? Do I need to remove the cranks? Or can I just pop off the covers and fit them over the existing cranks? Thank you!

I see you were looking at our 39-107. Is this the part you're working with? You will need to remove the handle in order to pop it off. We actually have a video that shows how to do that, check it out below:
