retainer strip replacement

Question

I have this retainer strip that I would like to replace. I have no idea as to the make of the storm door. I saw this post dated November 29, 2016 and believe it to be the same as I have. At that time you recommended going to storm clip 70-180. The problem is the offset from the door to the window is 9/16". Your clip shows a offset of 7/16". I would rather use a strip anyways because I believe it to look nicer. Do you have another recommendation?

Thanks for writing in. I'm afraid we don't have this kind of retainer clip. Most manufacturers aren't making them anymore to save on production costs. Our best solution is still using the 70-180 and the 33-020 screw. But if the offset is different, another solution would be to carefully cut your clip in half and distribute the halves evenly. You don't need the whole strip. Plus, that way you will have extras. Let me know what you think.
