Seeking Channel Balance

Quick Learner from Tampa FL

34 5 BQ CALDWELL

These have corroded and locked up. They are from PGT 76" x 45" double hung aluminum window. I wish to buy two (2) replacement. I used to buy these from Window Sales here in Tampa, FL.

My sashes measure 35&1/4" in length. They are from PGT double hung window 76" high x 45"wide. Need 4 replacements. See photos here. Weight code on back is 34 5 BQ CALDWELLl. MECHANISM FROZE ON ORIGINALS FROM CORROSION. I would think the weight should be 20lbs. not 5.

Thanks for posting. Take a look at either our Series 351 or Series 390 Channel Balances. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. The Series 351 bottom nylon shoe has a depth of 1", whereas the Series 390 bottom nylon shoe has a depth of 1-1/8". Compare with your old balances and see what you think matches best.

Once you have determined which Series to select, you must choose the proper length of your balance. To know the right length, measure the metal channel (but not including the nylon attachments). Once you have the length, you must choose a stamp option. Your stamped number of 34 5 conforms to our stamp option of 3450, which corresponds to a window sash weight range of 30 through 34 lbs. If you are uncertain this is correct, you can always weigh your window sash to make sure it fits within this weight range. Let us know if you have any questions.
