The part is a 27-2 block and tackle side-load sash balance. It measures 28 inches long,  1/2  inch channel width, 5/16 inch channel depth.

Hello there. It appears that the top fitting lacks 'wings', or side tabs, while the bottom fitting has them. However, the top fitting looks damaged, so please check an undamaged balance to verify this. If so, you need an S350-28, with a stamp option of 2720.
