sash balances

Home Owner from Langhorne PA 19047
Need 2 sash balances for a window sash that is 28-1/2 in. in length, 32-1/2 in. in height, and weighs 22-1/2 pounds.

It is 1-1/8 in thickness.

The present balances are steel coils 1/2 in wide in a plastic case 3 in. long and 1-1/4 in. wide and 1/2 in. thickness. They are in a track approx. 1-1/4 in. wide and 1/2 in. deep. They have 1 1 printed on them at the bottom.

The sash is attached to another piece of plastic in the track that also attaches the coil in the sash balance. The plastic has a round metal piece with a cleft and a groove in it. It attaches to a metal object shaped like a spike head at the bottom and side of the sash. this "spike head" is about 1/2 in. round with a flat shaft 1/8 wide and about 1/16 in thickness. The "spike head fits in to the groove of the round metal piece in the track.

I hope this is helpful. further info. can be given through the e-mail below before a purchase is made.

Thanks for writing in! There is a chance that we can supply you with a replacement channel balance for you window. However, to determine the correct replacement balances needed for your window, I'll need to see a photo of an undamaged balance removed from the window.

To properly identify them, I'll need to see a photo of any attachments that may be on the top or bottom of the balance.

If this is a tilt window, I'll need to see any attachments that could possibly be left behind in the window or that could possibly be attached to the bottom of the window. If there is a hook at the top of the balance, I'll need to see the space in the window channel where the hook connects.

To determine the stamp your balance may need, I'll need to know any stamps or markings from the channel or I'll need to to know the exact weight of the sash.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
