the backing is only 1.5" long. i have a sliding window in which both sides slide into the middle. condo was built in 1984 and I would like to replace left side and right side. they broze in color

Sure, check out our 90-020. This looks like a possible match. I'm afraid we do not have an alternate color at this time.
