What is the purpose of the screen plunger. I was locked outside and neighbor took off the screen in 1 second and was in my house. I was happy to get inside, but this was frightening how easy it was to be robbed. My window was not locked and he pried it open also in seconds.

The screen plungers are used to hold the screen in the window frame. Keep in mind that screens are not for security. An intruder could always cut the screen wire with a knife. The best way to make sure your windows are secured is to keep them locked from the inside.
