screw specifications

Question

I have a project where I need to remove about 6 dozen sheet metal screws and replace them with similar screws only 1/4" longer. The screws I have now are #8 x 1/2" coarse screws painted white ( .163 major diameter, .122" minor diameter, and 15 threads per inch ). I am wondering if the 33-090 fits those specifications, especially the threads per inch, so I can purchase them as replacements.

I agree, the 33-090 looks like our best match. The only issue is that the threads per inch look like 12. This is a normal type of sheet metal screw. See if it can work for you, regardless.
