series 900, 29" red tipped spiral balance, question regarding holes at top of balance

Hello, I have purchased this item and I see there are a set of holes at the top. the screw goes through both holes but, the holes are different as one side has the metal cut and pushed towards the center of the balance and the other is straight cut. which side of balance contacts the window track?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out! There isn't any one specific side of the balance where the screw would need to fit into the top of the balance tube. The balance screw at the top is just supposed to anchor the metal tube to the window frame so that inner spiral can extend and retract when opening and closing the window.
