shoes needed

Hello I have 2 windows that need shoes. Both are different from each other, and they both are about 30 years old. I attached 2 photo's that show the style needed for each. the photo's show good shoes not the broken ones. I have no idea of who the window manufacturer are. If you can help identifying and no how I might obtain parts that would be great.

I no longer need the shoe that is colored blue I that is shown in the photo I sent.

I do need the other shoe. I looked at your catalog and found a shoe that resembles and is described similar to what I have. it is catalog #15-140. the one I have does not have the flanged bottom. If the dimensions are the same I don't think that would matter. it says it should be used with series 150 spring coil. I don't know what spring coil I have. is there a way to determine that. Also i see coils are rated by pounds. how is that determined?

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see photos of your original pivot shoe and coil springs removed from the window to compare to our inventory. We'll also need you to write out the exact width and thickness of the pivot shoe to narrow down your options. If you need new coil springs, they should be stamped with numbers you'll need to choose the strength options for your replacement. See the videos related on this page to assist you.

Thanks for getting back to me. i will send a photo but will need to remove shoe. that as you know is a job because the track needs to be spread open. I don't need a coil spring, but do I need to remove it to find what the spring poundage is. if so are there any precautions I should be aware of. I hate to make a problem that I don't have presently.

It looks like your window has covers for the cutouts in your jamb that are used to replace the pivot shoes. You'll need to remove them to access the hardware and check the coil springs for strength numbers.

Hi again:
The video on shoe removal was helpful and I did remove the shoe. the pictures below are the dimensions for the shoe. it looks like inch and a half by inch and seven eights. 1 1/2 X 1 7/8. I could not remove the coil spring because even with the holding screw remove it will not come out. it moves but it acts like there is a sleeve holding into position. then there is a holding adjusting screw underneath which i didn't want to tamper with. that said the coil springs are fine. I only have an issue with the shoes. if we don't need info from the coil springs and just the shoe can be replaced it would be a great help.

Your pivot shoe looks like a match to the 15-140 but the width and thickness would be the determining factor. Keep in mind that the width is measured from the bottom as shown below. The 17/32" depth is also important to ensure that the shoe will fit in the jamb.

I'm honestly not sure why you're having a hard time with the coils. If there is a cutout in the frame, you should be able to slide the coil and housing up and pop it out of the opening. It's possible that there could be debris in the track making it difficult to move. If the original coils are in good shape and the shoe dimensions match, you can attach the original springs to the new 15-140 shoes.

Yes those are the dimensions I have. I need 2 but will get 6 for future. The video showed me how to cut the channel to remove the shoe. There were no cut-outs. I am having the glass replaced with low E and argon gas. That is why they broke. the windows are 30 years old but frames are in good shape. There is a manufacturer near me who does the upgrade for me that but not much on hardware, so you guys are a great find. these are for my cottage and I am doing all the windows. saving carpentry in replacing them. The springs are fine as well. They all work and I have found no rust. I am right by the ocean, I can throw a stone and hit the water. I also need weep hole covers for sliders I have. I found them on your site as well. I have booked marked your site. You have a lot of product that is not easily found.
