Thanks for posting your photos.
It appears the S385-21 will work as a replacement. Stamp option 2030 will carry a sash weight range of approximately 12 to 15 lbs. |

Hi, S385-21's plastic parts were fine, but balancer it self didn't work. Please take a look at the picture showing what is existing shape of metal cross section part compare to S385-21. S385-21 widens and sides of balancer touches vinyl frame of windows. I hope you have something it would work.
Thank you.

I'm sorry that you've had trouble with this balance replacement. This is the first time I've come across someone having a problem replacing their rib balance with our channel balance style.
I compared both balances and the measurements matched up at 9/16". |

Is your balancer S385-21 is the only replacement you could recommend?
Existing one has a lip at the opening of body of balancer that measures 5/8" from the edge of lip to the other, however the opposite side has 9/16" in measurement. Are you saying your S385-21 measures 9/16" at both (opening of body & the other side -- they are both long side)?
Thank you.

We strongly believe that the S385-21 is the best replacement for your balance. As we said, there has never been a problem with this before. If you still have trouble with it, I recommend that you consult with a local professional and see if they can help you with the physical installation.
