dear madam or sir,
Could you figure out based on the attached pics the replacement hardware needed? The lock is now stuck in a shut position and I can no longer operate that lock - likely I have to bore it open to remove the internals, open the door and replace the lock.
Please let me know what you can find out and whether you can provide the replacement lock.
I am looking forward hearing from you.
All the best,
Joerg Rosenbohm

hi Bob, Thanks for the identification. I have ordered these items (82-081 and 82-238) - plus the Multi-pointe Strike Plate (89-042), which should arrive soon.
I have another question regarding removing the old key handle set: The door is closed and locked. I have a key and can move it up and down, even hear it clicking. On the inside, I can also move the little handle that secures the door. However, the actual locking mechanism must be stuck.
Do you know of a good means that preserves the door, but allows to remove the door's key handle set? I can see that there 2 small screws on the inside handle facing the door jam, which I can remove. I can also bore into the key cylinder.
Did you ever run into such an issue and know what makes the most sense regarding opening the door, removing the old one, and installing the new key handle set? Please let me know.
All the best, Joerg

Hi Jeorg. First try removing the old handle set (those two screws on the base of the inside pull will let you do that). Then try manually manipulating the mortise lock, with a slotted screwdriver, to get the lock unstuck.
If it can't be done, unfortunately it gets a bit dicey. You may need to hire a pro to cut a hole in the door to get the mortise lock out. Obviously that's less than ideal, so do try to manually throw the lock first.
