sliding door keyed handle set.

I have to return the 82-080 I ordered by mistake. Mine takes the 3 15/16" not 4 15/16.

I believe the 82-086 will fit, it has the inside lever lower than center which seems to be correct. My worry is that the locking lever will have a square shaft entering the mortice lock from the inside (mine appears to be the same as your 82-218 mortice) but this mortice has a slot at a 45 degree angle.

How do I arrange the return shipping, I realize I must pay for this.

The locking lever for the 82-086 is a flat spindle. It's specifically designed to work with the 82-218, which you said matches your original. As long as your mortise is the 82-218 then the 82-086 will work.

As for returning the original order, you can see our return policy here.

Wish to replace with lockable handle. 3 15/16", Mortice seems to be same as your 82-218 with slot at 45 angle for inside lever.

Thanks I will reorder. Assume the idea is get both flat spindles, one inside and one outside, meeting in the middle of the mortice.

Yep! That is exactly how these products are meant to install.

Thank you for considering us and please let me know if you needed anything else.

Was ready to order the 82-086, then received a message from Cassandra suggesting I use the 82-030 but this does not seem to have the lower lever action it looks to be in the center. it would also have to have the 82-310 lock.
Am I best with the 82-086 still? Don't want to have to do another return.

The 82-030 actually has an adjustable lever, meaning it can work in either the center, bottom, or top position without issue. The lever on the 82-086 however is fixed and cannot be adjusted.

As long as your lever is in the bottom position than either handle set will work for you. They both serve the same function and work on the same doors, the only differences are the visual design and the fact that the 82-030 lever is adjustable. It's really just a matter of personal preference after that.

Thanks Tom, 82-086 looks and works great.
