sliding glass door

Question

ive recently uninstalled a doggy door and noticed when we go to shut the door there is a gap.  the model we have is a 5500/5700 series.  is there a replacement part and / or piece that i can install?

There isn't anything you can install that would close that gap, unfortunately. What this means is that the door isn't working properly for whatever reason. My first idea would be that there's some obstruction in the track, or even damage, that is preventing the door from closing all the way. That should be the first place you look.

I can also tell from these photos that your door is missing the mortise lock. That wouldn't necessarily cause the gap, but it sure doesn't help. My best guess for what your door had originally is the 82-218. Check this part out to see if it looks familiar.
